> Sorry, forgot to mux fonts (I need sleep), Fonts Archive for 01v1: https://files.catbox.moe/hyg0ff.zip No AI/MTL used for Translation. Manga-based. Most lines have been retimed. For any errors, report them in [discord server](https://discord.com/invite/cTRhnt7N8B). Translation and Typesetting will be improved as we progress. v2 will be there, like we did with Blue Box. Pending stuff: - Fix typos - Add Fonts (sorry again lol) - Proper Typesetting. - OP/ED Lyrics, TL & KFX - Better Chapters There are no plans of stopping this release for now, despite the sucking MTL subs all over the internet. > RSS: https://nyaa.iss.one/?page=rss&q=%5BKawaSubs%5D+The+Fragrant+Flower+Blooms+With+Dignity&c=0_0&f=0 Thanks for pointing the typos out, Iphroget. Nice idea, Glordit.

Thanks! Could you please have consistent episode numbering for main and alt titles in the torrent name? Sonarr doesn't seem to parse this torrent because of S01E01 in the alt title. These both would work fine (I guess Sonarr doesn't like mixing absolute and relative numbering): `[KawaSubs] The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity - 01 [NF 1080p AVC AAC] [Eng-Sub] | Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku - 01 (v1)` `[KawaSubs] The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity - S01E01 [NF 1080p AVC AAC] [Eng-Sub] | Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku - S01E01 (v1)`
or maybe, just maybe use a good title instead, no point including the episode number multiple times, mentioning v1 is pointless (it's the expected default) and including WEB-DL in the title will have Sonarr and other automation software assume the source media type correctly (and people looking at it will also know what it is instead of having to try to guess) > [KawaSubs] The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity - S01E01 [NF WEB-DL 1080p AVC AAC] [Eng-Sub] | Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku

_delay this slightly so that shitty pirate streaming sites can have the MTL subs_
Thank you so much! I was looking forward to this anime the most this season and I was so sad when I heard about the delay but thanks to you I will be able to watch it and with great subs as well. You already saved me once with Blue Box and now again with this. Ill be waiting for v2 but again thank you so much!
I really appreciate the effort, but sadly the subtitle timing isn't that great. Sometimes there are gaps within lines even when they should be linked and scene timing (snapping to keyframes at the end of a scene) is also very inconsistent - probably the most annoying problem imo. It would be really great if you can improve in this area with newer episodes (or a v2 release). You can check out this website for help: https://unanimated.github.io/timing-basics.htm And for better keyframes to import within Aegisub use this line below (needs FFmpeg and SCXvid-standalone): ffmpeg -i "%input%" -f yuv4mpegpipe -vf scale=640:360 -pix_fmt yuv420p -vsync drop - | SCXvid "%input%_keyframes.txt"
(And in case you didn't know, Erai-raws has better audio than the other rips, because they use the 192kbps xHE-AAC/USAC instead of terrible 128kbps AAC+SBR as its base)
@eXmendiC btw, does ADN have the best audio now?
@Kamiyan93 Yes. Should be something like that for audio (only relevant sources included): ADN > Amazon Prime (Crunchyroll channel > Prime JP > ... etc.\*) > Crunchyroll (192kbps AAC) > Netflix (192kbps AAC) > Amazon (Hidive channel) > anything else not worth mentioning \* Quality can vary from channel or even the show itself. Prime JP (or any other channel) can be worse than both Crunchyroll channel / regular Crunchyroll or Anime Times India being better or worse than Prime JP/Crunchyroll channel depending on who distributed the show to them (the ones without watermark are mostly safe, I think) for example.
If you look at the frequency range, ADN does a good job with AAC reaching up to 24khz. I think you can use an audio spectrogram to look at it from something like spek or spek-x. Amazon tends to do EAC-3 with a frequency range over 20khz. With Dolby EAC-3 audio you can have the sound use their built-in audio compression to get even louder if decoded and present within the audio stream. Crunchyroll releases tend to be around 16khz and the audio is normally compressed. Netflix (NF) generally does around 22khz frequency range and the audio seems lower volume than Amazon. Seems like a lot of audio is for devices with weaker speakers or earbuds/earphones/etc that aren't as resolving sound wise. Erai-raws seems to put extra effort into providing a good anime fan experience to better audio with crunchyroll subtitles muxed into their releases. Typically, trusting Amazon for their sound quality is best considering that a higher frequency range doesn't always mean the audio was processed carefully. Ultimately, it will be up to the user to decide what suits them best.
@dejindo Frequency isn't all that matters, a decent audio encoder does matter as well. For AAC there are pretty bad AAC encoders like ffmpeg AAC. For Crunchyroll and Netflix we know they use fdkaac (which is quite good, but there is a twist for Netflix). For the 128kbps audio (like in this release) Netflix uses the SBR technology which fakes the 22kHz - it's actually at around 11,5kHz (you can easily spot that in Spek). It's good for lower bitrates, but not recommended and awful for anything higher than 96kbps (when you actually care about audio quality). Making the AAC audio actually one of the worst with 128kbps. The 192kbps AAC audio on Netflix is fine tho, they use xHE-AAC/USAC for that and I think ~20kHz (not quite sure about that tho). Due to playback issues with that codec, Erai is re-encoding it to regular AAC (with decent qaac settings) for the least quality loss without going lossless (which would make it pretty big). Crunchyroll now has ~17kHz with their new 192kbps audio (compared to 15,8kHz with 128kbps) - which is fdkaac default at that bitrate and decent enough in my experience. ADN uses qaac (with highest TVBR mode), which is genereally known to be the best AAC encoder. For Amazon it's generally "garbage in, garbage out", that's why the audio on the Hidive channel there is usually at around ~15kHz and some other channels aren't at a consistent ~20kHz as well.
I prefer to use qaac or opus when I want good compromise for file size and audio quality. Normally, I'll use higher settings for those audio encoders. Obviously I'd like FLAC or some other smaller lossless file size but that requires larger filesize. I wasn't as familiar with the fake 22khz but it does make sense. I think fdkaac is good enough normally but I will use qaac over it or itunes encoder itself because of how fast it encodes the file. ADN does tend to sound pretty good but I don't see as many releases that use their streams into releases as often. I never touch the FFMPEG AAC encoder ever because of the lack of audio fidelity.
Feels like the good old days when some passionate people would translate anime. Thank you for this, I hope you can take on future episodes as well. AI is a nice quick gimmick for people who absolutely need the translation ASAP, but manual subs are more my cup of tea.
https://www.diffchecker.com/f3XqGvCq/ you should really just wait the extra week for netflix. it may not have typesetting, but at least it doesn't have: - three watermarks throughout the video - a rant crying about some illegal streaming site "stealing" their subs - a terrible, clunky and overly stiff script (which is using AI anyways because i highly doubt KawaSubs magically learned Japanese in the span of a few weeks, despite heavily relying on AI for all of their other translations)
nah, NF can go fuck themselves. Kawa subs are perfectly fine. Watched Blue Box with them and will watch this one too.
NF also won't have KFX lol...plus this v1 has no typsetting, wait for v2 with proper KFX and TS....OP/ED and title took some time, but soon everything will be on track like Blue Box, v2 weekly after 1-2 days of v1.
typesetting is not going to save this script from being dogshit though
